Alice Alvillar

March 1, 1934 — December 7, 2025

Alice M. Alvillar of San Jose, AZ passed away on Sunday morning, December 7, 2025 at the age of 91 in her home with her loving family at her side. She was born on March 1, 1934 in Morenci, AZ to Antonio Moreno & Eulalia Ponce Moreno.

Alice, or Licha, as she was known to all, graduated from Morenci High School in 1952.  Antonio C. Alvillar "Tony", & Licha were married on December 28, 1956 in Clifton, AZ, and again through the Catholic Church in San Manuel, AZ on January 16, 1959, and were married for over 69 years. She lived and worked sided by side with her husband Tony on the family farm for many, many years. Eagle Creek, the PBar, Luna Lake, Big Lake, Hannagan Meadow, and Morenci were VERY special to her. She loved camping out with her family, siblings, relatives and friends.

Licha was an excellent seamstress, she also crocheted, embroidered, and colored in books with the most beautiful vivid colors of yarns, threads, and pencils she could find.  She was extremely talented in many ways.

Prior to her illness she remained dedicated to God and prayed her rosary every night.  Although Alzheimer's clouded her memory, she was able to continue her love of reading and would read any written word out loud to her family every day.

Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her great joy. She is survived by her children: Barbara Alvillar (Jose) Sosa, Martin (Toni) Alvillar, and Lena Alvillar, her siblings: Tomas Moreno, Inez Moreno (Gabriel) Weinert, MaryAnn (Bo) Thorn Jacobsen, Diana (Bill) Betoney, and Nellie Casillas, along with 5 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.

Licha is preceded in death by her parents Antonio & Evlelia Moreno, and her siblings Ricardo Moreno, Antonio Moreno, Esperanza Perez, Angelita Marquez, Josephina Lucio, and Teresa Casillas.

Her loving, happy, generous, kind spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
