Aurora "ChaCha" Romero Tarin, a vibrant soul with a feisty spirit and a loving heart, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, in Safford, Arizona. She was born on June 14, 1928, in Morenci, Arizona, where her journey through life began—a journey defined by strength, wit, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Aurora, affectionately known as “ChaCha,” was the cherished daughter of Urbano and Sara Romero, whose nurturing guidance shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. As a young woman, she attended Morenci High School, laying the foundation for a life marked by resilience and close-knit community ties.

A proud housewife, ChaCha poured her boundless energy into creating a warm and welcoming home, nurturing her family with her spicy humor and unmistakable character. Her presence lit up every room, and those fortunate enough to know her will remember her quick wit and the laughter she inspired whenever she was near.

Family was always at the heart of Aurora’s world. She will be deeply missed by her beloved children—Mary (Rex) Anderson, Anthony (Diana) Sierra, and Christina (Pete) Gutierrez—who were the lights of her life. Aurora’s pride expanded to embrace her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each new generation bringing her immeasurable joy and fulfillment. She often spoke of the births of her children and grandchildren as her proudest accomplishments, cherishing the legacy of love and togetherness they represented.

Aurora’s vibrant personality was evident in every facet of her life. She was fiesty, loving, and truly a character—leaving family and friends with stories and smiles that will long outlast her passing. Her zest for life carried over to her favorite pastimes, especially going to bingo with friends and family, where her competitive spirit shined, and watching the Phoenix Suns. She delighted in following her favorite player, Booker, and cheered with genuine enthusiasm from her armchair at home.

Aurora was preceded in death by her father, Urbano Romero; mother, Sara Romero; brothers, Gabriel, Danny, Robert Romero, and Herlindo Romero; sister, Sara Lujan; her son, Michael Romero; and dear granddaughter, Rosanna Cuevas. The memories of these dearly departed loved ones remained close to her heart throughout her days.

Those who survive her—the loving children Mary, Anthony, and Christina, along with her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren—carry forward her remarkable spirit, tenacity, and humor. In their hearts, she will remain ever-present, an enduring source of inspiration and love.
