It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carmelita "Carm" Goseyun, who peacefully departed this life on May 7, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona, after a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication. Born on March 3, 1957, in San Carlos, Arizona, Carm was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met.
For more than 34 years, Carmelita served as a medical imaging receptionist at Banner University Hospital, where her compassionate nature and ability to connect with patients made her a beloved figure among her peers and those she assisted. Her colleagues will remember her not only for her professionalism but also for the lighthearted spirit she brought to the workplace, always managing to intertwine laughter with the routine of daily tasks.
Carmelita's educational journey took her from being a proud graduate of Ft. Thomas High School to pursuing further studies at Haskell Indian College for three years. This foundation set the stage for a career that allowed her to help others and provide an invaluable service to her community.
Known for her love of sports, especially her Phoenix Suns, Carm embraced each moment with enthusiasm. A family-oriented person, she held dear the tradition of greeting her loved ones with open arms, always expecting a warm hug every time she saw them. Her home was a haven of love, where family members knew they were welcomed and embraced.
Carmelita leaves behind a loving family that includes her son Antonio Goseyun, daughter Angel Goseyun, son Jeremy Goseyun, and 11 cherished grandchildren who will forever remember her as their devoted grandmother. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Rosalind Wilson and Maxine Johnson, who held a special place in her heart.
In the wake of her passing, Carm joins her cherished loved ones who have preceded her in death: her parents, Jerry Goseyun and Hattie Hunter; her son, Harrison Wells; her brother, Jerry Goseyun, Jr.; and her niece, Danielle Goseyun. Their memories will continue to live on in the hearts of those who remain, further enriching the legacy of a woman whose life was a celebration of love and connection.
A visitation will be held at the Goseyun residence in Bylas, Arizona, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, beginning at 4:00 PM, providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather in remembrance of Carm.
