Cleo Mae Herbert Duthie
1927 - 2024

Cleo Mae Herbert Duthie, our wonderful angel mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, returned to the loving embrace of her Father in Heaven on March 1, 2024, in Pima, Arizona, of causes incident to age. She was 96 years old.

Cleo was born on May 14, 1927, in Douglas, Arizona, to Melvin George Herbert and Maybird "Mae" Haynie Herbert, the third of four children and the only daughter, and was raised in Douglas. She was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her father was born in Safford, and her maternal grandfather, Stephen Wilson, was once postmaster in Pima.

She married Joseph James "Joe" Duthie, Jr. in the Mesa Temple on June 6, 1946.  They raised three daughters and two sons, and for a few years lived in various nearby communities, including Douglas, Willcox, Kansas Settlement, AZ, and Cotton City, NM. The family returned to Douglas in 1964, where Joe and Cleo lived until 2005, when they moved to Pima. Joe passed away in 2006.

Cleo is survived by her five children: Sandy Huish (Larry) of Pima, AZ; Terry Huber (Tom) of San Tan Valley, AZ; Chris Moore (Cameron) of Magna, UT; Jim Duthie (Tammy) of Meridian, ID; and Eric Duthie (Susan) of Hildale, UT.  Cleo has 22 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 9, 2024 followed by the funeral service.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at the Pima Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 341 West 450 South, with a viewing at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at the Pima Cemetery.

Special thanks to her loving, compassionate and faithful caregivers, including family members, friends, ward members, and workers from Haven Hospice Care of Pima.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Humanitarian Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
