She was the proud daughter of Jay George and Barbara Bozarth, and she carried their memory with her throughout her life.
Dixie's early education took her through the halls of White Pine High School in Nevada before continuing her studies at Eastern Arizona College in Arizona. Her determination and work ethic flourished as she later became a daycare owner, where she dedicated her life to nurturing and teaching children, always bringing warmth and kindness to those around her.

This union brought great happiness not only to the couple but also to their families, marking a chapter of profound joy. Together, Dixie and James built a loving home, filled with laughter and cherished moments, surrounded by their three children: sons Michael Jay Collins and Patrick Collins, and daughter Kelleye Jo Collins. She took immense pride in the birth of her children and celebrated the values they carried forward.
As a vibrant spirit, Dixie embraced life with a contagious enthusiasm. She was an avid traveler and passionate photographer, capturing the beauty of the world around her. Her adventurous nature was matched by her athleticism; she loved running marathons and was known as a ballplayer with a good sense of humor. Those who knew her can still hear her favorite saying: "better than a poke in the eye," a phrase that always brought a smile and a chuckle.
Dixie’s love extended beyond her family. She was a true cowgirl at heart, known for her warm conversations with anyone who would listen. Her deep affection for her pets, including her loyal dog Tobin and her rabbit Thumper, showcased her nurturing spirit.
She leaves behind an extensive legacy in the form of 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored and who will carry forward her love and values. The bonds they formed with her will remain eternal.
Dixie is survived by her husband, James Willoughby; her children, Michael, Patrick, and Kelleye Jo; along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will miss her deeply. She joins her dear parents, Jay George and Barbara Bozarth, as well as her brother, Michael Jay George, and sister, Laua Ann Crecilius, in eternal rest.
