Dolly Lacy Holdman, 89, passed away unexpectedly on June 12, 2026 in Tucson, Arizona.
Dolly was born on March 20, 1937 to Howard & Alice Lacy in Miami, AZ and grew up in San Simon, AZ surrounded by her 9 siblings.
Mom graduated from San Simon High School in 1956 and moved to Safford, AZ to study Business Administration at Eastern Arizona College. She met Clinton R. Mullen in 1957 and three months later they were married. Together they welcomed six children. Sadly, Clinton was killed in a car accident in 1973 leaving Dolly to raise their children.
In 1976 she married James Kay Lawrence, who brought four more children to the mix. They enjoyed camping and fishing in the San Carlos Lake and in Alpine, AZ. Kay passed away in 1995 once again leaving mom a widow.
She worked as a Real Estate agent at Coldwell Banker Curtis Real Estate. She excelled in real estate and won numerous Presidents Circle Awards during her career. She also served as Treasurer and Vice President of the Graham-Greenlee Board of Realtors. Mom retired around the same that Kay became sick.
On January 1, 2000 she married Jesse Holdman. They embarked on numerous travel adventures including spending several months in Alaska. Jesse passed away in 2014.
Dolly is preceded in death by her parents Howard & Alice Lacy, siblings; Vivian Logan, Genevieve Nichols, Lily Chapman, Peral Duncan, Verna Mahan, and Richard Lacy. She is also predeceased by her husbands Clinton R. Mullen, James Kay Lawrence, and Jesse Holdman along with her son Larro Shane Mullen, granddaughter Mandy Sanchez, and grandson Brawley Mullen.
She is survived by her siblings Faye Duncan, Johnny Lacy, and Harriet Colvin, her children Laurie Richardson, Tharrin (Sheila) Mullen, Rory (Rochelle) Mullen, Loren (Lisa) Mullen, and Clinton (Kathy) Mullen, along with 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mom was blessed to be born into a loving and strong family, and she ultimately built her own strong and loving family. She rarely complained of the hardships she endured or struggles she faces. She loved her family so very much and led by example. She will be missed by everyone of us.
Services for Dolly will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 beginning with a viewing at 9:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at the McDougal Caldwell Funeral Chapel with interment in the Safford Cemetery. A luncheon will follow services at the Crossroads Baptist Church located at 2934 W 8th Street in Thatcher.
