Edward Lee Gutierrez, a devoted family man and cherished community member, passed away on June 5, 2026, in Safford, Arizona. Born on May 20, 1967, in Douglas raised in Pima, Arizona, Edward lived a life marked by unwavering determination, heartfelt humor, and an adventurous spirit.

A graduate of Pima High School in 1985, Edward built a successful career as an Account Manager at Open Loop Energy. Yet, it was not his professional accomplishments that defined him, but the deep love and pride he felt for his family. He often spoke fondly of his proudest moments—the births of his children and grandchildren—and those who knew Edward understood how dearly he treasured these blessings.

Edward's personality could be summed up with a warm smile and a lighthearted jest, tempered by a stubborn streak that earned him respect and affection. He loved to impart his favorite quote: "If you're going to be dumb, you better be tough!"—a phrase that reflected both his humor and resilience. His adventurous nature was evident in his interests, which spanned shooting guns, hunting, and his meticulous hobby of collecting and building model trains.

More than anything, Edward was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his son, Casey Gutierrez; his daughters, Kaylee (Cody) Whitmire and Cassidy (Joel) Brandau; and his eight beloved grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Their presence was a source of immense happiness for Edward, and he delighted in every moment spent with them.

To honor Edward's memory, a memorial service will be held on June 15, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at True Hope Fellowship, located at 2580 S 17th Ave, Safford, AZ 85546. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and all whose lives Edward touched to come together and celebrate a man whose loving spirit will leave a lasting imprint.
