Evanna Elise Merino Ferguson, a beloved mother and daughter, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, at the age of 37 in Safford, Arizona where she was surrounded by her family and kids. She touched the lives of many throughout her journey here, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and encouragement.
Evanna was born on April 14, 1988, in Portland, Oregon. She was the daughter of Richard Ferguson and the late Angela Merino. She shared a close bond with her siblings, including her twin brother Justin Ferguson, brother Richard Merino and sister Chalise Moreno.
Evanna excelled in her educational journey by earning a degree in speech therapy from Arizona State University in 2012. Her career was not just a profession, but a calling and a representation of her kindness, allowing her to make a difference in the lives of her patients and their families.
Evanna was a woman full of ambition, compassion, confidence, and a strong-minded personality. She was known for her adventurous spirit and was thrilled by living life on the edge. She was always ready to offer comfort and support to anyone who crossed paths with her. She loved spending time with family, especially her children who were truly her life’s biggest treasures. She also enjoyed working out, listening to music, and watching movies.
Family was at the center of Evanna’s world. Her heart was filled by being a mother to five beautiful children: Alanna Foxworth, Gasiah Merino, Iliana Merino, Zayanna Merino, and Jeremiah Gonzales. They were her pride and joy in which she poured her love into nurturing them, while also guiding them as a role model and showing endless love consistently.
Evanna Elise Merino Ferguson's legacy will live on through the countless lives she influenced, the love she instilled in her children, and the memories she created with those lucky enough to know her. Her courageous spirit, love for family, and giving nature will forever be celebrated and remembered.
Evanna was preceded in death by her beloved mom Angela Merino, brother Richard Merino and uncle Felix Merino. Where they now welcome her into heaven with open arms reunited in love and surrounded by the family she missed deeply.
A memorial service to honor Evanna's life will be held on February 20, 2026, at McDougal Caldwell Funeral Chapel, located at 112 East Main Street, Safford, AZ, starting at 11:00 AM.
