Gary Stanley Sr.

Gary Stanley Sr., passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, in Bylas, Arizona. Born on August 4, 1951, in San Carlos, Arizona, Gary dedicated his life to not only his work but also to the rich tapestry of family and community that surrounded him.

Education was a pursuit close to Gary’s heart, and he took great pride in returning to college to obtain his certification, showcasing his unwavering commitment to personal growth and lifelong learning. His passion for knowledge was often mirrored in the advice he would share with those around him. He would often say, "Look at every situation or problem from all sides. Nothing is ever one sided." This insightful perspective on life resonated deeply with his loved ones.

Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his dear family, including his beloved wife, Rose and their children Rozanna (and her husband Patrick Anderson), Gary Stanley Jr. and Jocynda (and her husband, Sean Quade). His legacy extends through 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the values of prayer, family, and love that he embodied throughout his life.

Beyond his dedication to family, Gary found joy in taking part in Apache Ceremonies, allowing him to connect with his heritage and the community that shaped him. His love for traveling with his wife and grandkids brought immeasurable happiness, as did the quiet moments spent reading, which reflected his thirst for knowledge and understanding.

Gary's life was marked by profound moments and love shared with others. Although he no longer walks among us, his spirit and teachings will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. He joins the departed members of his family, including his father, Rosine Stanley; mother, Sally Duane; and son, Alfonso Stanley, grandson Andfernee Stanley, in eternal rest.

There will be a viewing at the family residence in Bylas, Arizona, on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. Services will be held at the Ernest Stanley Hall in Bylas, Arizona, on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Final resting place will be at the Navajo Point cemetery in Bylas, Arizona.
