Gerald Burkett

Gerald "Jerry" Duane Burkett, age 78, passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family of Safford, Arizona. He was born in Coleman, Texas, on July 16th, 1942, to his parents Preston and Johnie Burkett, and joined his siblings, Beth Cass, Karen Cass, and Darrell Burkett. Jerry attended Bisbee Highschool and later married his lifelong partner Joyce L. Burkett on September 23rd, 1961. He then went on to work for Phelps Dodge as an electrician for 42 years and began a family. Jerry dearly loved his children Jerry, Michael, and David Burkett. You could often find him spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing. He is survived by his children Jerry D. and Sue Burkett, Michael and Celina Burkett, David and Michelle Burkett, and siblings Beth and Pete Cass, Karen and Michael Cass, and Darrell and Vickie Burkett, as well as 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Jerry is preceded in death by his daughter Lori Jo Burkett and his parents Preston and Johnie Burkett. Services were cared for by McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel located at 112 E.
