Geraldine Valeria (Burnside) Jeremy went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2026, with her son Alan by her side.
Geraldine [Geri] was born February 23, 1930 in Waucoma, Iowa to Lillian Ruth [Voshell] and Irving Burnside. She lived her young years in South Saint Paul, MN. Geri was a devout Christian and never went a day without thanking the Lord for all of her Blessings. As a young adult she babysat, walked to the library and dreamed. She worked at the five and dime store wrapping gifts and waiting on customers at the counter.
In 1947 she met the love of her life, James [Jim] Jeremy. After writing and dating, they were married exactly one year after meeting, July 03, 1948 at the farmhouse of James' parents in Hugo, MN. Life was very different for her as a city kid, but never vigilant and stubborn, she did everything that was required of a farm wife.
To this union, 6 children were born: Leonard Joseph, Peter Bruce and Christine Charlotte all born in Forest Lake, MN and Jonell Ruth, Nancy Elizabeth and Alan Eugene born in Hasting, MN.
Geri Seldom worked outside the home, feeling that raising her children was her number one duty. When she did, she worked for a few years at Medtronic in Minnesota and Honeywell in Colorado.
Geri was always very involved with her children and husband. Raising and showing appaloosa horses and German shepherd dogs were the things she focused on. In the later years she painted, sewed, embroidered and quilted. She was a master of all these until she wasn't able to do them.
Geri lived in Minnesota, Colorado, California, Wisconsin and Arizona during her lifetime following Jim.
Those preceding her in death are her husband, son Peter, daughter Christine, son-in-law Robert, great grandson Justin, great-great grandson Jack, parents and parents in-law, sister Charlotte, sister in-law, Florence & Louis, Vera & Albert, Jean & Ralph, grandparents Peter & Rosa and Henry & Nellie as well as multitudes of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Those surviving Geri are her sons Leonard (Laura), Alan (Kim), daughters Jonell (Larry) and Nancy, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great granddaughter. Her son-in-law Wayne and Kathy, sister-in-law Lucile (who passed 4 hours after Geri) and many, many nieces and nephews.
Geri was one of a kind in that she always seemed to have a wonderful attitude and saw the world as if the sun always shone and the birds always sang! God Rest Your Soul, Momma, we love you!
No services are scheduled. She chose to be cremated, and her ashes will be spread by her late husband in the Colorado Rocky's on July 3rd, 2026, which will be their 78th wedding anniversary.
