Jacob "Jake" P. Weathersby, Sr., born June 6, 1950, passed away on September 30, 2024, at the age of 74. He was the beloved son of Neuel Oliver Weathersby and Charlotte Chlarson Weathersby.
Jake graduated from Safford High School and Eastern Arizona College, where he excelled in 4-H, FFA, and participating in rodeos. His passion for ranching and agriculture earned him numerous accolades, most notably the prestigious title of FFA Star Farmer of Arizona in 1968. After his schooling, Jake proudly served his country as Military Police for the Army National Guard of Arizona. His service was a source of pride, as was his lifelong dedication to his roots on the Weathersby Cattle Ranch and Farm, where he was raised.
In addition to his ranching experience, Jake pursued a career in construction and Production Credit Association (PCA). Thereafter, Jake became the owner of the 3-Way Store and Station in Greenlee County, a business he operated with hard work and dedication.
Jake is survived by his loving wife, Sandi, and his children Lana Lee (Michael) and Jake Weathersby Jr, and four grandchildren, Colton, Michael, Cody, and Kason. He is also survived by Larry (Bodie) and Yvette Gill. He leaves behind his two faithful companions, Trouble, his Australian Shepherd, and Molly, his Border Collie.
A private memorial will be held in the future to honor Jake's life and legacy.
