James A Olson

James A. Olson, 82, passed away April 29, 2026, in Safford, Arizona. Services will be held at a later date. He was born May 31, 1943, in Hatton, North Dakota to Avner and Bernice Olson. He had one brother, Tom. He graduated from high school in 1961 in Mayville, North Dakota.

He was blessed with 3 children, Scott, Todd, and Tammy. He was proud grandfather to his 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He also loved spending his days with his dog, Remmy.

During his working life he was a truck driver, and Weld County Deputy Sheriff for 5 years. He lived with the attitude that something good would always come his way. He was quiet and reclusive but generous to a fault.

James is survived by his sons, Scott and Todd Olson, and daughter, Tammy Irish, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Avner and Bernice Olson, grandson, Connor Irish and great grandson, Shane Olson.
