Jesus Patricio Rios, affectionately known as “Pat,” was born on March 17, 1958, in the warm heart of Safford, Arizona. He graced the world with his presence for nearly sixty-eight years, before departing unexpectedly on January 17, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona. Pat was a beloved son, a devoted father, a cherished brother, and an adoring grandfather who spent his life enjoying simple pleasures and fostering connections with those who mattered most.
A proud graduate of Safford High School, Class of 1976, Pat led a life characterized by a quiet strength and a warm spirit. Though he was reserved at first glance, those fortunate enough to know him discovered his caring nature and readiness to help others at every opportunity. He possessed a charming personality, often winning hearts with his insightful wit and penchant for memorable sayings, proudly declaring, “Aye, drink a beer!”
His professional journey was marked by his skilled artistry as a butcher—a trade he dedicated himself to with earnest passion. Yet, beyond his career, Pat’s vibrant hobbies painted a fuller picture of his life. A major league bowler, he traversed the nation, delighting in competitions where he brought home trophies and rings that adorned his well-earned accolades. Fishing was another love, providing him with serene moments on the water, surrounded by the whispers of nature.
Pat’s greatest pride was found in the hearts of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his devoted daughters, Lorraine Perry, Candice Rios, and sons Patrick Rios and Jacob Rios. Pat’s legacy continues through the laughter and memories shared by his ten cherished grandchildren, who will carry forward the spirit he infused into their lives. His siblings, Irene (Todd) Romero, Mary Rivas, and Angel (Debbie) Rios also survive him, embracing the profound bond forged through their shared childhood and memories.
He now joins his beloved parents, Concha Cervantez Rios & Jesus Rios, and his brothers, Ignacio and Ricky Rios, as well as Socorro Rios, his sister-in-law, in eternal rest—a reunion that resonates with love and remembrance.
The community is invited to honor Pat’s life and legacy. A Rosary will be held at McDougal Caldwell Funeral Chapel on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 1:00 PM. A Graveside Service will follow at Safford Cemetery on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM. These moments offer a space for friends and family to gather, reminisce, and celebrate the life of a man who will forever be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and love for those around him.
