Jesus "Joe" Sigala

September 12, 1929 — June 21, 2024

In loving memory of Jesus "Joe" Sigala, whose journey on this earth came to a peaceful end on June 21, 2024, in Thatcher, AZ. He was born on September 12, 1929, in Morenci, AZ, to his beloved parents Anastacio & Felipa Moran Sigala with siblings Juan, Ernest, Antonio, Robert, Daniel, Elias, Anastacio Jr., Fernando, Raquel, Chato & Robert Jr.

Joe led a life defined by dedication and hard work as a shovel operator for Phelps Dodge. His commitment and passion for his career were truly commendable. Aside from his work, Joe found joy in various hobbies and interests such as fishing spending time at the casino, watching wrestling matches, and even watching amateur wrestling in Greenlee County.

Infused with a beautiful personality that radiated warmth and love, Joe cherished every moment spent with his family and friends. He valued the art of creating lasting memories that would be treasured for generations to come.

Among his proudest accomplishments were marrying the love of his life, Patricia Franco, welcoming each of his children and grandchildren into the world, and retiring after an admirable 47 years of dedicated service.

Joe is now reunited in eternity with his beloved wife Patricia Sigala, daughter Gloria Sigala, brothers Juan, Antonio, Robert, sister Raquel, and his parents Anastacio & Felipa Sigala who had all gone before him.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will be carried on by those who survive him. He is fondly remembered by his children Ernest, Philip, Michael, Susan, Rachel, Joseph, and Rebecca. He had 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 11th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel in Safford followed by a Rosary on Friday July 12th at 9:30 AM with a Mass at 10:30 AM at St Rose of Lima Parish. The final act of laying him to rest will take place at Safford Cemetery.

In remembrance of Joe's remarkable life filled with love and joyous moments shared with all those around him. May he rest in peace as memories of his kindness and light continue to shine brightly in our hearts forevermore.
