It is with great sadness that the family of Jimmie Vernay Lusk, 92, announce his passing on July 1, 2025 at his home in York Valley, Arizona, with his family by his side.
Jimmie was born November 19, 1932 in Haskell, Texas. He graduated from Haskell High School in 1951 and met the love of his life, Dona Harrell. The two got married on December 26, 1952 in rural Texas and had three sons, Jim, Gary and Billy.
In 1953, Jimmie joined the Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California until his honorable discharge in 1955. After his service to our country, he settle his family in Morenci and York Valley where he worked as a Boilemaker Supervisor.
His family will always remember his kind spirit and generosity towards others. He never met a stranger, was always willing to help someone broken down, never missed a grandchild's sporting event, no matter how far and always offered them "bill fold money" so they didn't walk around with an empty wallet. Golf was his favorite pastime and he dedicated countless hours to his local golf course.
Jimmie rejoins his parents, Vernon and Ora Alberta, two brothers, Eddie and Billy (Jack) Lusk and his beloved sons, Gary Lusk and Billy Lusk in eternal peace.
Jimmie is survived by his wife, Dona Lusk, son Jim and Terri Lusk, eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Duncan First Southern Baptist Church at 31 Gale Avenue in Duncan, Arizona on July 26, 2025 at 11:00am. Jimmie's final resting place will be at the Sheldon Cemetery in York Valley, Arizona.
Jimmie Lusk lived a life full of love and will be remembered for his humor and wit, love for gold and most importantly his love for family. Every goodbye hug was met with a "You be good" or a "Take care of yourself" and every family picture was taken with a smile to Dona and the phrase "Look what we created!".
