Jo Johnson

Jo "Jody" Willa Johnson of Thatcher passed away on February 28, 2024 at the age of 80. Jody was born on April 15, 1943 in Valliant, Oklahoma to parents Clifford Hall & Josephine Lorance Hall and siblings Jimmie, Charlotte, and Sandra.

At the age of 3, Jody and her family moved to Morenci where she grew up, graduating from Morenci High School in 1961. On December 28, 1963, Jody married Keith Johnson in Clifton then relocated to Phoenix. The couple was blessed with 2 children, Joe & Kyra.

Jody continued her education receiving an Associates Degree from Scottsdale Community College and later, in 1989, she received her Bachelors Degree from Arizona State University. That same year, Jody moved to Safford and sadly, in 1990, Jody and Keith divorced.

She began working for the hospital as the Materials Manager then as the Accounts Payable Clerk retiring in 2009. Working and raising her children were her daily tasks but for fun Jody enjoyed oil painting and working on genealogy.

She is survived by her children Joe (Pam) Johnson and Kyra Johnson, her brother Jimmie Hall, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and her best friend of 30 years Judy Calvert.

Jody is preceded in death by her parents Clifford & Josephine Hall, and her sisters Charlotte Saiz and Sandra Ross.

A memorial service for Jody will be held on Saturday, March 16th at 1:00 p.m. at the McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel followed by the Urn burial in the Ward Canyon Cemetery.
