Joanna Layton

The family of Joanna Morris Layton of Thatcher is saddened to announce her passing into eternity on May 6, 2022, in Tucson, Arizona. Joanna was born on March 22, 1948, in Phoenix, Arizona to Warren Ray Morris & Lucille Smith Morris and joining her brother Charles. Joanna graduated from Safford High School in 1966 and on June 26, 1969, she married Robert George Layton in the Mesa Arizona Temple. The couple was blessed with 4 children, Ryan, Adam, Andrea, and Holly. She worked in the medical industry as a billing specialist. Joanna loved her Dachshund's Ellie, Tucker, and Scooter. Joanna is survived by her children Ryan (Dionna) Layton, Adam (Kristy) Layton, Andrea (Preston) Price, and Holly (Travis) Thompson. She is also survived by her brother Charles (Patricia) Morris, and 9 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Robert George Layton, and her parents Warren Ray & Lucille Smith Morris. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 14th beginning at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church Street Chapel with Bishop Jeff Jorgensen officiating. Interment will be in the Thatcher Cemetery.
