In the heart of Safford, Arizona, on December 28, 1973, Kevin Henry was welcomed into the world. Known affectionately by many as “OJ,” “Fatso,” “McCroy,” “Kasenki,” and “Old Skool,” he carved a life filled with laughter, warmth, and an unyielding spirit of camaraderie. With his recent passing on August 8, 2025, at the age of 51, we are left to remember a vivid tapestry woven from his years as a beloved laborer, dear brother, and friend.
Kevin graduated from Fort Thomas High School in 1991, crafting cherished memories that would last a lifetime and establishing connections with those who would come to love him. His vibrant personality stood out wherever he went—funny, outgoing, and ever the life of the party, he had an ineffable way of turning the mundane into the extraordinary. Whether he was finding joy on the basketball court, dancing with fervor, or simply enjoying the great outdoors, Kevin's zest for life was undeniably infectious. He would compete tirelessly in friendly games of basketball, always accompanied by laughter and good nature.
He was not just a figure among friends; he was a beacon of light and joy, amply reflected in his favorite sayings: “Sister, give me some money” and “only me, man”—phrases that will echo fondly in the hearts of those who knew him well. His devotion to family was profound, especially his playful bond with Shanna, his sister. The vitality and energy he fostered while spending time with his great niece and nephews created lifelong memories; they are left with a legacy of love and happiness sewn into their hearts.
Kevin had an affinity for his canine companions, Rusty and Roxie, who must now roam the house searching for their playful master. Their barks no longer meet the laughter of the man who considered them family. Despite the upheaval of grief, Shanna stands resilient, reminiscent of their adventures and the joy Kevin brought to every shared moment.
Accompanied by eternal pillars of strength, Kevin joins the embraced memory of his parents, Valentine and Dorothy Henry, and his sister Shawna, who have surely awaited him with loving arms. Their bonds transcend the earthly realm, proving that love does not wane with separation, but instead, propels one to a brighter existence beyond our grasp.
In a gracious farewell, family and friends will gather to celebrate his life. A visitation will take place at the Henry residence in Bylas on August 22, 2025, starting at 4 PM, followed by a heartfelt funeral service the next day at the Ernest Stanley Memorial Hall, beginning at 10 AM. His journey will conclude with a solemn burial at Black Point Cemetery, where his spirit will lay to rest at noon, a peaceful send-off for a man whose vibrant colors painted the lives of so many.
Kevin Henry may have left this earthly plane, but the indelible impact of his laughter, love, and spirited persona will resonate for generations to come. As we mourn the loss of our friend, brother, and soul, let us also celebrate the life he lived—a life marked by joy, humor, and a fierce love for family and friends. Farewell, dear Kevin, until we meet again.
