Marcus Cortez Leon was a beloved soul who graced this world with his presence on July 14, 2009, in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California. Tragically, he departed from us on March 11, 2024, in Safford, Arizona.

Those who knew Marcus understood him as someone easy-going and incredibly popular. He had a way of making everyone around him feel at ease with his gentle demeanor and warm smile. Marcus found joy in the simple things in life and had a passion for two things particularly: video games and soccer. His skill on the soccer field was matched only by his strategic prowess in virtual worlds. He was a mighty hunter with many amazing hunts and great memories.

In his educational journey, Marcus attended high school where he not only excelled academically but also made lasting friendships that spoke volumes about the kind of person he was - caring, fun-loving, and genuine.

Marcus' legacy extends beyond his hobbies and achievements; it resides in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. He cultivated relationships that blossomed into lifelong connections filled with love and laughter.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, March 21, 2024 at McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel located at 112 E Main Street, Safford, Arizona 85546.

With the Recitition of the Rosary at 9:15 AM, Friday, March 22, 2024, followed by the Mass of a Christian Burial at 10:15 AM at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Parish located at 300 Central Avenue, Safford, Arizona 85546.

Though Marcus may no longer walk beside us in this physical realm, his spirit lives on in the memories shared by those who loved him dearly. In his final moments, he was surrounded by his loving family, finding peace in their embrace.

Marcus' departure leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled, but we take solace in knowing that his spirit is now free to soar amongst the stars. May we carry forward his essence of kindness and warmth as we cherish the moments we were blessed to spend with him.

Rest in peace, dear Marcus. Your light will forever shine brightly in our souls.
