Marie Busby

Marie Maloy Busby, long-time resident of Safford, passed away on March 8, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. Marie was a beloved mother, tia, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born on March 24, 1934, and lived a life filled with love, hard work, and unwavering faith.

Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry and son Richard, but her legacy lives on through her family and the countless lives she touched. She is survived by her children Mark S. (Marina), Twila, Elisa, Rosa Larson and Susquiana Figueroa (Jose), 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Marie's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found solace and strength in her testimony of Jesus Christ, and her commitment to the Gospel was unwavering. Her dedication to her faith extended to her local community and around the world, where she selflessly helped many in need by serving 6 missions for the Church.

Marie held family dear to her heart and she cherished every moment spent with them. She leaves behind a legacy of love, and strength that will continue to inspire for generations to come.

Visitation will be held at McDougal’s Caldwell Chapel on Thursday, March 28th from 6-8 p.m. and again Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. followed by the funeral services at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Safford Stake Center, 501 W Catalina Dr in Safford, AZ. Burial will follow immediately at Gila Valley Memorial Gardens.

honor of Marie's lifelong commitment to helping others and making the world a better place.
