Mary Jane Lee, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, departed this life on September 28, 2025, in Thatcher, Arizona, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and pride. Born on July 31, 1937, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, she embraced her life with an unwavering spirit and a deep love for her family and her faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A dedicated bus driver for the Clifton/Morenci Unified School District, Mary Jane took great pride in her work, touching the lives of many children in her community. Her journey on the road was about more than just driving; it was about nurturing a sense of safety and bringing joy to her young passengers each day. Her commitment to her job was a testament to her loving nature and ability to foster connections with those around her.
Family was at the heart of Mary Jane’s life. She was incredibly proud of her children, Chris (Peggy) Lee, Kenneth (Susan) Lee, and Todd Lee who were not only her joy but also her proudest accomplishments. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her grandchildren, Joshua Lee, Jacob Lee, and Brandon Lee, as well as her great-grandchildren, Blake, Raeann, Nevaeh, Aiden, and Royal. Each of them carries a piece of her loving legacy, and they remember her warmth, laughter, and guidance.
Though she faced the sorrow of loss throughout her life, with the passing of her beloved husband Melvin Lee, son Todd Lee, and grandchildren Roxanne Lee and Lane Lee, Mary Jane drew strength from her faith and family. Her beloved parents, Joe Loftis and Carmen Loftis, also welcomed her into their eternal embrace.
As we remember Mary Jane Lee, we celebrate a life that was rich in love and devotion. Her boundless love for her family and her dedication to her community will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her. In every story told and every memory shared, Mary Jane’s spirit will continue to shine brightly, guiding and inspiring all who loved her.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at the Calvary Cemetery in Douglas, Arizona.
