Melissa Moss

Melissa Moss, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 24, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona. Born on November 11, 1971, in Safford Arizona. She was the loving daughter of Fernando and Rosalinda Castro Sanchez. A proud graduate of Safford High School, Class of 1989, Melissa began her journey there, eager to embrace the world.

Melissa is remembered for her unforgettable spirit, a radiant presence that lingered in the hearts of all who met her. She carried herself with a sense of pride and a zest for life often finding beauty in the simplest of things. Her adventurous spirit was evident in all aspects of her life. A bright loving soul who always offered a helping hand to those around her.

Melissa's love for her children Jordan Moss, Chandler Moss, David Getchell, and Ayden Meyerson was a constant light in her life. They were her pride and joy, and she spoke of them often, always with warmth, laughter, and a deep abiding love. No matter where life took her, her heart was never far from her children.

Melissa is survived by her parents, Fernie and Linda Sanchez, and her sisters, Stephanie (Ray) Saldana and Bianca Sanchez. Her caring presence will be deeply missed among family gatherings and celebrations. Melissa was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Louis and Petra Castro, and her paternal grandparents, Sam and Belen Sanchez. She also leaves behind several uncles, aunts and cousins, who have been touched by her warmth and love.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at McDougal Caldwell Funeral Chapel, located at 112 East Main Street, Safford, Arizona 85546. 

Family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate the remarkable life of Melissa Moss, whose spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her and who will carry her memory forward.
