Patrick G. Camacho, 77, of Safford, Arizona, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, at Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center in Safford.
Patrick was born on December 10, 1948, in Lordsburg, New Mexico, to Ventura and Ramona Camacho. He was raised alongside his siblings Lilly, Debbie, Rosemary, Nellie, Edmund, Michael, and Joseph, forming a close-knit family that remained important to him throughout his life.
A proud patriot, Patrick answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army in 1967. He served with honor as part of C Company, 4th Battalion, 6th Infantry. During his years of service, including time in Vietnam, he earned numerous commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), Overseas Service Bars, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm. He was honorably discharged on June 8, 1976.
Following his military service, Patrick built a hardworking life as a truck driver, a career that reflected his dedication, resilience, and strong work ethic.
On October 25, 1970, Patrick married the love of his life, Gloria Camacho. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and service. Their love and commitment created a strong foundation for their six children: Pat Jr., Pamela, Stephen (Sarah), Larry (JoAnn), Christopher, and James.
Patrick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
A man of deep faith, Patrick was a Christian who lived out his beliefs through service to others. He was actively involved in Bylas Outreach and gave generously of his time to his church and community. Whether through organized service or simple acts of kindness, he was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Patrick had a joyful spirit and a love for life’s simple pleasures. He especially loved the holidays Halloween was a favorite, as he delighted in buying pounds of candy to share with neighborhood children. He cherished time spent with family, especially during cookouts, and enjoyed watching Westerns, eating seafood, and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Camacho; his six children; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ventura and Ramona Camacho; his brothers Joseph and Edmund; and his beloved grandchildren, Pauly and Camilo Camacho.
Patrick’s life was one of service, strength, and love a life well lived and deeply cherished. His legacy will live on through his family, his faith, and the many lives he touched.
