Patsy R Carbajal

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Patsy R. Carbajal, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, in her hometown of Clifton, AZ.

Born December 8, 1933, in San Gabriel, CA to Pat & Linda Roybal, she was the middle child of three daughters.  At a young age, her family returned to Arizona where she attended Clifton School and was a profound athlete in tennis and volleyball.  She was also a proud 1952 CHS Alumni that developed and cherished many lifelong friendships.  She looked forward to class reunions and social events.

Patsy had a lifelong love for outdoor camping, fishing, gardening, and picnics.  She enjoyed immersing herself in a good Danielle Steel book, crossword puzzles, Hallmark movies, and her favorite game of Aggravation.

Known for her warm and welcoming nature, Patsy never met a stranger - everyone was made to feel special in her presence.  She found pleasure in meaningful conversation and staying connected with family and friends.  Her belief that every day was a blessing permeated her every action, inspiring her loved ones to share in her positivity and gratitude.  This enduring legacy is the gift she leaves behind, one that will be honored and cherished by all who knew her.   Her goodbyes always ended with "God willing I'll see you tomorrow."

Patsy leaves behind her sister Evelyn Gray, her loving sons and cherished daughters-in-law, Arnold (Vangie) Roybal, and Pat (Diane) Roybal.  Her vibrant spirit will continue to glow in the hearts of her adored 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Carbajal, her sister, Margie Onate, and granddaughter, Shawna Marie Roybal.

To honor and remember Patsy's enduring spirit, a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the McDougal Caldwell Chapel in Safford, AZ.  We invite all who knew and loved Patsy to join us in paying respects to this remarkable woman, whose life lessons and generous spirit have left an indelible mark on our hearts.
