Philman Pike, 74, of Globe, AZ, passed away April 9, 2013. Philman was born to Amos & Mary Hinton Pike on January 3, 1939 in San Carlos, AZ. He was the oldest child followed by Mary Lee & Brazie Ganilla, both deceased. Philman attended grade school at the Bylas Day School and then to Ft. Thomas High School where he went until the 11th grade. He got his G.E.D. from Eastern Arizona College. On his birthday in 1956 he joined the Navy where he served until January 2, 1960. He wrote in his journal that was the happiest day in my life when I kissed old Uncle Sam goodbye. He later married Vera Kozie and they had four children; Phil (stillborn), Veda, Kate & Sam Pike. Years later, Philman was a custodian at a hospital where he met an R.N. Hopi lady named Ramona Enos Jenkins. They later married and had four children; Roanna, Mike, Daren (deceased) and Brian Jenkins. After he got sick he stayed at home but loved going to church where he would sing and visit with the friends & family that he loved so much. Philman loved all of his kids & grandkids. He was loving, helpful and very giving to all he came to know. He was full of fun and laughter. This is a great loss to the family as they loved him dearly and will miss his jokes, smiles and laughter. There will be a wake beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13 at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Bylas. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Pastor Vernon Poncho. Final interment will be in the Black Point Cemetery in Bylas.
