Phyllis Ann Sokol

Mrs. Phyllis Ann Sokol, 81, of Alpine, Arizona, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024.

Phyllis was born April 19, 1942 in Oskaloosa TWP Clay County, Illinois to parents Virgil Gilbert and Ester Jones.

Phyllis moved around 1970 from Illinois to Thatcher, Arizona.  After a few years, she married John Sokol and for many years helped operate her husband's business, Sokol Heating and Cooling in Safford, Arizona. Later, they sold the business in Safford and moved to Alpine, Arizona where they operated the Mountain Hardware store. 

Phyllis is survived by her husband John, her two sons, a brother-in-law James, her sister Lois Wood of Urbana, Illinois, her brother James Gilbert of Florida, and a nephew Tim Hagerty of Safford, Arizona. 

She is preceded in death by her sister Shirley Gard.
