Educated at Phoenix Indian School, Rafuel committed much of his life to working as a Heavy Equipment Operator, a career through which he exhibited the same steadfast dedication and care that defined his character. More than his professional achievements, however, Rafuel's proudest accomplishment was his family—an enduring testament to the love and values he upheld throughout his life.
A well-respected Christian man, Rafuel’s humility and caring nature were evident to everyone in Peridot and beyond. Known for his strong faith in God, he lived a life marked by generosity and compassion, always putting the needs of others before his own. His kindness was a beacon for his family and community alike.
Rafuel is survived by his beloved spouse, Josephine Palmer Williams; daughters Eileen Altaha and Lynnia Williams; his brother Luke Williams and sister Sandy Williams; as well as two cherished grandchildren and six beloved great-grandchildren. The love he shared with them will forever be a part of their lives and hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Barker Williams and Jane Velasquez; his son George Williams; grandson Gabriel Altaha; and siblings Betty Gomez, Leo Williams Sr., Dennis Williams Sr., Justin Williams, Gloria Tortice, and Ann Birnette. Their memories live on in the stories and love shared by Rafuel and his family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, located at 385 San Carlos Ave, San Carlos, AZ. A funeral service will follow on the same day, beginning at 10:00 AM and concluding at 11:30 AM. Rafuel will then be laid to rest at the burial on Six Mile Cemetery Road at 12:00 PM. The community is invited to join in honoring a man whose life radiated faith and love.
