Rena Short

Rena Monette Short, 80, of Morenci AZ died January 5th, 2023. Rena Short, daughter of Marvin Elmer and Donna Daisy Dodson, loving wife of Buryl Ferris Short, passed away on January 5th at the Safford Mount Graham Regional Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Buryl, two sons Neil and Brian, and one daughter Carri Lindsay. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and one great grand-daughter. There are two great grandchildren currently on the way. Over the years, Rena has worked in various jobs to help with family expenses and for personal fulfillment. Some of those jobs include Hospital Records Clerk, Department supervisor at the Phelps Dodge Mercantile Store, and photojournalist at the Greenlee County Copper Era. She donated much of her time to worthy causes such as the Alcoholics Anonymous, Sunday School teaching and teaching her own children to love God. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 12 at 10:00 A.M. at the Morenci Church of Christ meeting facility.
