Obituary

Roger Crees, born January 26, 1945, in Panora, Iowa, passed away on October 18, 2026, in Thatcher, Arizona.

Roger will be remembered as a man who brought wit, humor, and intelligence to the lives of those around him. He was quick witted, funny, and smart, and he was fiercely loyal to those he loved. These qualities shaped the way he moved through life and the way he will be held in memory by those who knew him best.

He found enjoyment in life’s simple and enduring pleasures. Roger loved hunting and fishing, and he also enjoyed playing cards and playing pool. Whether spending time outdoors or sharing laughter and competition around a table, he created moments of connection that will not be forgotten.

Roger’s memory lives on in his family. He is survived by his granddaughter, Kiena Crees, and by his great-grandchildren, Kadence Crees-Miller and Alek Crees-Miller. Their place in his life continues his legacy forward, and his memory will remain a part of their lives in the years ahead.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Huitt; his brother, Rick Huitt; his son, Mikel Crees; his former wife, Janet Jobe; and his longtime girlfriend, Janet Lee.

Roger’s life was marked by loyalty, laughter, and the kind of presence that leaves a lasting impression. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
