It is with a heavy and tender heart that we announce the passing of Rosa Lorena Valencia, a woman whose grace and warmth touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on June 10, 1957, in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, Rosa’s life journey brought her to Tucson, Arizona, where she peacefully departed on May 8, 2026.
Rosa was a very classy lady whose elegance was evident not only in her poised demeanor but also in the simple joys she embraced—she always loved shopping and had a special delight in receiving packages in the mail. Her deep pride in her Catholic faith was a guiding light throughout her life, framing her values and the compassionate way she embraced her family and community.
Her proudest accomplishments were beautifully personal and profound: giving birth to her three beloved sons, spending cherished moments with her many grandchildren, and sharing love with her late husband, Jose M. Campos. Her devotion to her family was unparalleled. Rosa lovingly took care of her home, her children, grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, nurturing bonds that will forever carry her loving spirit.
Rosa is survived by her devoted sons Miguel (Patsy) Martinez, Antonio (Evelyn) Martinez, and Gabriel (Sonia) Martinez; her beloved mother, Rosalina Chavez; and her siblings Guadalupe (Omar), Imelda (Alfonso), Alvaro (Lourdes), Miguel (Mary), and Evelio (Rosie). She is also survived by twenty cherished grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, who are the living testament to her enduring legacy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Adan Valencia, and her devoted husband, Jose M. Campos, whose memory she held close to her heart.
Family, friends, and all who knew Rosa are invited to honor her memory during the viewing at McDougal Caldwell Funerals & Cremation, located at 112 E Main St, Safford, AZ 85546, on May 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The following day, May 23, 2026, a Eulogy will be held at St Rose of Lima Parish in Safford, AZ 85546, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a Rosary at 10:30 AM and a Mass celebrating her life at 11:00 AM, concluding at noon.
Rosa Lorena Valencia’s legacy is one of unwavering devotion, graceful dignity, and boundless love. Though she has left this earthly realm, her spirit remains alive in every smile shared, every lesson taught, and every heart she touched. May we all find comfort in the warmth of her memory and the strength she instilled through a life well-lived.
