Rose Anna Gregory, a beloved matriarch, devoted mother, cherished sister, and proud grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, in her hometown of Pima, Arizona. Born on October 9, 1933, she was a vibrant spirit, known for her outgoing personality, fierce love for family, and zest for life.
Rose Anna graduated from Pima High School, where her adventurous spirit began to shine. She spent her career in customer service in retail, where her friendly nature made her a favorite among customers and coworkers alike. A true conversationalist, Rose Anna was known to “talk your ears off,” ensuring everyone she encountered felt valued and appreciated. Her genuine warmth extended to the community, and those who met her were often left with a smile.
Rose Anna's life was marked by love and devotion. She married the love of her life, LaVon Gregory, on May 9, 1953, in Pima, creating a partnership that became a foundation for their family. Together, they celebrated the births of their children, Diane Tefft and Gary Gregory, Dwight Gregory. Rose Anna took immense pride in her role as a mother and was especially honored to witness the growing branches of her family tree, which included eight grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Rose Anna found joy in hunting and fishing with her family. She also embraced her creative side, often crochet-ing pieces that brought warmth to her home and those around her. A passionate reader, she delighted in stories that transported her to different worlds, igniting her adventurous spirit even further.
Rose Anna's legacy goes beyond her accomplishments in life; it lies in the love she bestowed upon those fortunate enough to know her. Her favorite saying, “I love you honeybun,” encapsulated her affectionate nature, and she never shied away from expressing her love to family and friends. Even in moments of stubbornness and playfulness, her flirty demeanor brought laughter and cheer to all.
She will be lovingly remembered and missed deeply by her surviving family: her daughter Diane Tefft; her son Gary Gregory; her sisters, Henrietta Young and Florence Shrader; her beloved cat, Littlebit; and her substantial lineage of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Rose Anna was preceded in death by many cherished family members, including her husband LaVon, her son Dwight Gregory, her granddaughter Carey Waters, son in-law Carl Tefft, and a myriad of siblings, including sisters Amber, Jean, Phyllis, and Marie, as well as brothers Avery and Jesse. She is now reunited with them, basking in the everlasting love that marked her life by her father Avery Taylor Beal and mother Mildred Kirbey Beal.
A graveside service to honor Rose Anna's remarkable life will be held on October 8, 2025, at Pima Cemetery, beginning at 2:00 PM. As her family gathers to celebrate her memory, they will carry forward the values she instilled in them and the love she shared so freely, ensuring her spirit remains alive in their hearts.
