Rudolpho Gonzalez Sanchez, known to many as Rudy, passed away on September 8, 2026, in Safford, Arizona. He was born on January 21, 1948, in Morenci, Arizona.
Rudy will be remembered for his good sense of humor and for the way he was always making jokes and making people laugh. He brought warmth to those around him and left an impression through his lighthearted spirit and the joy he shared with family and friends. He was also a man of creativity and expression who enjoyed playing drums and painting, interests that reflected both his energy and his artistic side.
He was educated in Clifton, Arizona, and was part of the Class of 1967. That chapter of his life remained an important part of his story and connected him to the community and people of the area he called home.
Rudy is survived by his daughters, Angelica Sharp, also known as Angelica Sanchez, Tabitha Sanchez, Valerie Sanchez, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Ray (Carol) Sanchez and his sister, Alice (Phillip) Imatong. Each of them carries forward memories of his laughter, his personality, and the many moments they shared together.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Raymundo and Heneritta Sanchez; his son Rudy Sanchez; his brother David Sanchez and sister-in-law, Lydia Sanchez.
Rudy’s life was marked by humor, creativity, and the ability to make others smile. He will be remembered with love and missed deeply by those who knew him.
