Sandra Rae Fairfield, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on July 21, 2025, in Pima, Arizona, at the age of 80. Born on October 26, 1944, in Bloomington, Illinois, Sandra was a vibrant spirit and a source of joy to all who knew her.
Sandra, known for her warm smile and loving nature, enjoyed a life filled with laughter and cherished moments, particularly those spent with her family. She had a knack for making every gathering special, bringing together her children, grandchildren, and friends with a heart full of love. Sandra had a great fondness for visiting the casino, where she enjoyed the thrill and excitement, often accompanied by her grandchildren who treasured their time spent with her.
In 1991, Sandra married the love of her life, Herbert Fairfield, in a memorable ceremony in Carson City, Nevada. Their union was a testament to a love that would last a lifetime. Together, they built a family rich in love, compassion, and shared joy.
Sandra is survived by her cherished children: Diane Lacy (Perry Johnson), David Lacy (Keely Lacy), Ralph Lacy(Mattiea Lacy), Sharon DeGroat(Rick Degroat), Debbie (Danny) Kellems, Teresa (Jim) Reed, Kathy Massey, and Brenda Voyles. She was also blessed with 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her family will carry her memory forward, celebrating the legacy of love she instilled in each of them.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Herbert Fairfield; her loving parents, Ralph and Elanor Helmick; and her dear siblings, Shirley Helmick and Beverly Helmick, her grandson's Ryan Barnes and Mathew Lacy and her son in law Danny Kellems. They welcomed her into their arms, leaving a profound impact on those left behind.
A graveside service to honor Sandra's life will be held on July 30, 2025, at Bryce Cemetery in Pima, Arizona, beginning at 9:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate a remarkable woman who brought so much light into their lives.
Sandra Rae Fairfield will be deeply missed but forever remembered, her spirit living on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to shine, reminding all of the beautiful moments shared.
