In Loving Memory of Stephen Russell Baker
Born on January 29, 1960 in Cushing, OK. Stephen was a man whose life was rooted in faith, hard work, and love. He grew up in Oklahoma hunting, trapping and a little bit of everything else. A devoted follower of Christ, he lived out his beliefs every day—not just in words, but in action. Whether it was providing for his family, helping a neighbor, or quietly giving to those in need, never expecting recognition. His faith guided every step he took.
He was a jack of all trades. He worked as an entrepreneur for many years. He spent several years owning a trucking company and several years in real estate. Later he started a career at Empire Cat where he worked for over 15 years. He was always rising early and working late with unwavering dedication. But more than his work, it was the way he lived that spoke volumes, steadfast, hard-working, wise, humble, and full of quiet strength. He was an incredible father, grandfather, and a friend whose love was deep, selfless, and enduring. His life long passion was always hunting and spending time with those he loved.
He is survived by his children: Matthew (Alexis), Noah (Joanna), Lucyette (Ryan), Anthony, and Faith. He also leaves behind his Grandchildren: Brynlee, Blake, Benjamin and Cameron.
A visitation will be held in his honor on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., both taking place at The River Community Church located at 1726 S. 1st Ave. (Highway 191), Safford, AZ 85546. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the life and legacy of Stephen Baker.
A Graveside service will be held at a later date in Yale, Oklahoma.
Stephen Baker’s legacy of faith, strength, hard work and love will live on in the hearts of those he touched. He served the Lord with his whole life. Now he rests in His eternal peace.
