Steve Billy

August 12, 1963 — March 26, 2022

The Life of Steve "Jim Watt" Billy Steve "Jim Watt" Billy was born on August 12, 1963, to the Late David and Gladys Hinton Billy. He lived and grew up in Bylas, AZ with his siblings, 2 brothers: the late Jerry and Vernon Kitcheyan, 5 sisters the late Evelyn Kitcheyan, Susan Titla, Daisy Bylas, Dorothy Pike, and Elva Billy. He also had siblings from his father's previous relationship, 2 brothers the late Overson Billy, Daniel Billy, and sisters Carol Jean Hunter and the late Clarissa Charley. Steve has many family members from White River, AZ as well as from Bylas that loved him very much. Steve attended Bylas Lutheran School in Bylas, AZ from kindergarten to eighth grade. He went on to high school in Ft. Thomas, AZ, and graduated on May 21, 1981. After high school, Steve started work for the Point of Pines association as a ranch cowboy in Point of Pines, AZ. He followed his late uncle Lee Hinton and late cousin Udell Hinton, and many other family members to work in Point of Pines. Steve grew up learning about horses, roping, and cattle herding. He spent most of his career as a cowboy. He enjoyed being in the mountains and loved to ride horses and hanging with the other cowboys. His roping skills had made him one of the best cowboys. He took a break from the ranch life and took other jobs, but his passion for the outdoors brought him back to work on the Globe Ranch in Globe, AZ at the time of his passing. On November 17, 1991, Steve had welcomed a daughter, Shawna Bullis into the world. Then on January 9, 2001, Caitlin Hinton was born and Steve took her to be his daughter, he had also considered Kandi Boni as one of his children. He has numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren that he loved dearly. Steve had gained the nickname "Jim Watt" from the cowboys on the ranch because he was a skilled roper like the cowboy Jim Watt. He was also known as Boomie. Steve loved to be around family and friends. He made many friendships over the years that he was known by almost everyone. He was a likable person- and got along well with people he met. Steve entered into eternal rest on March 26, 2022, at Chandler Regional Hospital. He is preceded in death by his father, David Billy, and his mother, Gladys Hinton Billy, brothers Vernon, and Jerry Kitcheyan, and Overson Billy, and sisters Evelyn Kitcheyan and Clarissa Charley. He leaves behind children, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, many relatives, and numerous friends. Steve will be missed by many, but the cowboy must ride away. Like Steve would always say, "it's never goodbye, but see you later." A Viewing will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 4:00 a.m. at the Billy residence in Bylas with the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church with Pastor Vernon Poncho Officiating.
