Thomas R Dixon

October 2, 1937 — March 2, 2026

Virden, New Mexico

Thomas R. Dixon, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished friend, was born on October 2, 1937, in Columbus, Georgia. He peacefully departed this world on March 2, 2026, in Franklin, Arizona, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering commitment to family and faith.

Throughout his vibrant life, Tom embraced every moment with enthusiasm and warmth. He proudly served as a Warehouse Supervisor for Phelps Dodge Mine in Morenci and was also a dedicated rancher. His strong work ethic and honesty were the hallmarks of his character, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. A graduate of Senera High School, he carried the lessons learned into every aspect of his life.

Tom was immensely proud of the family he built with Lavinia Donaldson, whom he met and married in the Mesa Arizona Temple in 1957. Their enduring love spanned an incredible 69 years. Together, they raised their children: Dova, Ralph, Donna, and Parley, imparting priceless values of caring, integrity, and faith to each of them. Tom's devotion as a husband and father was matched only by his love for his 21 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 4.75 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immeasurable joy into his life.

Tom's personality shone as brightly as his smile. Those who knew him would attest that he was kind to the core, always willing to lend a helping hand or simply share a moment of laughter. His mantra, “simply M-A-R-V-E-L-O-U-S!” perfectly encapsulated his optimistic spirit, leaving behind a trail of friends drawn to his engaging demeanor and heartwarming presence.

A lifetime disciple of Jesus Christ, Tom’s faith was integral to who he was. He was actively involved with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he nurtured his relationship with God and inspired those around him to grow in their faith.

As we gather to honor and celebrate Tom's life, we also remember those who have welcomed him beyond. He is reunited with his beloved daughters Angilique and DeAnna, his cherished parents Gladys Blanche Palmer Dixon and Ralph Conner Dixon, and his siblings Frank, Margie, and Russel, along with a young brother taken too soon, who will always be held close in memory.

Tom Dixon's warmth and commitment to family and community will continue to resonate through the lives he touched. He is dearly missed but leaves behind a legacy that will forever inspire love, generosity, and faith in all who had the privilege to know him.

A graveside service to celebrate his incredible life will take place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Virden Cemetery in Virden, New Mexico, where those who loved him will gather to pay their final respects.

Rest in peace, dear Tom. Your marvelous spirit will forever be cherished in the hearts of those you loved so dearly.
