- Velia Magallanes Peru, age 80, joined her Angels in Heaven on March 20, 2026 in Chandler, AZ surrounded by her loved ones.
- Born on January 8, 1946 in Morenci, AZ to Paul and Aurora Magallanes, growing up with her little sister Celina, aka Sally, in ‘thee’ Old Morenci. She was a graduate of Morenci High School, up on The Hill.
- Upon graduating high school, she married her love, Vicente M Peru, whom were blessed with 62 years of marriage. Together they started their family, raising nine children, Vincent, Paul, Larry, Toni, Diane, David, Joseph, Albert & Misty, all who were her pride and joy. Family time in her eyes was the best time. She lived simply and treasured each and every one of us that knew her. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren just the same.
- She is survived by her loving husband, Vicente M Peru, her children Vincent (Linda) Peru, Paul Peru, Larry Peru (Yoli), Toni Saucedo, David (Olivia) Peru, Joseph Peru (Tanya), Albert (Maria) Peru, Misty (Robby) Gregory, her sister Sally, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous Nieces & Nephews.
- Velia was preceded in death by her parents Paul & Aurora Magallanes, daughter Diane Valdez, sister Alice Magallanes, brother Andy Rodriguez, son-in-law Gabriel B Saucedo and grandson Louis Ray Lopez III .
- Velias’ life was a testament to love, faith and family. Though she will be profoundly missed, her spirit lives on in every story told, every prayer shared, and every moment of togetherness she inspired.
- Services for Velia will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clifton, AZ on Saturday March 28, 2026 beginning with visitation at 9:30 a.m., Rosary at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with the interment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery following services.
