Velma Stringfellow

Velma "Irene" Stringfellow passed away at her home on October 15, 23, at the age of 94. She was born August 10, 1929, in Los Palomas, New Mexico to Eula Lee Swope & Prentice Jefferson Carter. On October 18, 1947, she married Alvin Lloyd Stringfellow in Hatch, New Mexico. They traveled between New Mexico and Arizona during their lifetime. Irene was a homemaker, and helped Alvin with swap meets, saddle making and many more trades. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Lloyd Stringfellow, her daughter Donna Baker, her parents Prentice Carter & Eula Swope, 2 brothers Junior & Clayton Carter, and her granddaughter Kristen Stringfellow. Irene is survived by her sons Dale (Cindy) Stringfellow, Robert Wayne (Beth) Stringfellow, her daughter Patsy (Jerry) Kastner, and her sister Betty Bragg. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 24 (plus 1 on the way) great-great grandchildren. A viewing will be held at the McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel on October 28, 2023 from 9-11:00 a.m. with a graveside service to will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the Pima Cemetery.
