Vernon Dozier, 93, of Arizona, passed away November 11, 2025, peacefully surrounded by family.
Vernon was born on March 8, 1932, in Valiant, Oklahoma, to Walter and Evie Dozier. A hardworking and humble man, Vernon lived a life defined by dedication, integrity, and love for his family and the outdoors.
After proudly serving in the United States Army, Vernon settled in Arizona, where he worked for many years as a carpenter. Known for his strong work ethic and craftsmanship, he took pride in everything he built - both with his hands and in his life.
Outside of work, Vernon was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He spent many peaceful mornings at Big Lake and along the Salt River, where he found joy and serenity in nature. Vernon also had a passion for gardening, tending to his plants with the same patience and care he showed in all aspects of his life.
He was married to his beloved wife Polly Dozier for 50 years, and together they raised three children.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Evie Dozier, siblings Roy, Louise and Gary, and his loving wife, Polly Dozier.
He is survived by his three children - Joel (Margie), Julie (Greg), and Jerry (Leslie): 5 grandchildren - Shawn (Joyce), Camron (Ana), Jayme (Amanda), Stephanie, and Dominique; 5 great grandchildren - Samantha (Clayton), Dravyn, Jaylin, Serenity, and Daxton; 2 great-great grandchildren - Eliana and Kacey.
